FAQs
Do you offer initial consultations?
Yes, I do offer free 15-minute phone or video initial consultations.
Initial consultations gives us the opportunity to talk about what you need and see how we can work together. It’s also a good time for you to ask any questions and make sure that my style fits what you're looking for before we start therapy.

Absolutely. As someone who benefits from cis-body privilege, I recognize the importance of using my position to support and advocate for those who face systemic barriers.

What insurance plans do you accept?
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Aetna insurances. However, I am not part of the Medicare or Medicaid programs, so even if you have those through BCBS or Aetna, I would be considered out-of-network.
I can accept out-of-state insurance plans that are a part of either BCBS PPO or Aetna networks.

How much does therapy cost if I'm using insurance?
It depends on your specific plan details. Insurance plans have either a copay or a coinsurance.
Copay is a flat cost per session (usually between $15-50). This cost stays the same whether you have hit your deductible or not.
Coinsurances are the percentage of a therapy session cost you are responsible for paying for. They typically kick-in once you have met your deductible. As an example, you would pay $35 if you have met your deductible and have a 20% coinsurance (for a $175 session). Check with your insurance plan as some insurance plans also have an allowed amount, which caps or limits how much they will pay per session.

Do you accept out-of-network insurance benefits?
Yes, I accept out-of-network benefits for insurances that are not Blue Cross Blue Shield or Aetna.
Out-of-network benefits allow you to see a provider outside your insurance network, and your insurance may reimburse a portion of the session cost.
I can offer superbills to those submitting to their out-of-network insurance plans. If you want to learn more about out-of-network benefits, follow this link.

How do I pay for therapy?
I accept payment via debit, credit, and FSA/HSA cards. For your security, I use a HIPAA-compliant payment platform.
I keep a card on file. At the end of each session, I'll run a charge to the card. This keeps the payment process simple and helps with minimizing confusion about outstanding balances.
